I don't know if there will be a ProTrack for the iPhone 4. You should better ask Alesis ;) .

But there is an iPad version on its way :

So, I just want to make sure that I understand correctly before I spend the money. If I buy an iRig, I will be able to input my electric guitar to everyday looper? And, if I understand correctly, the quality will be quite good? I'm really interested and excited to get started with that setup.

Also, I'm wondering if it's possible to have other apps input directly to everyday looper. For instance, could I use the iRig app before everyday looper to put effects on my guitar?

Hi Sam !

Yes, with the iRig you will be able to input your electric guitar to Everyday Looper and the quality will be quite good. However, depending on the level of your guitar, the volume may be quite low. But you can turn it up after recording anyway.

And no, you can't route the output of an app directly to the input of an other. That would be very cool, but not possible on the iDevices for now.

Cheers !

quick questions -

I would love to run a mixer into one of these cables then into a Iphone that way i can play My harmonica solo an my girlfriend can play clarinet while the loop is going

so my question is could i run

harmonica or clarinet)solo --> Mic (shure) ---> Mixer -->GuitarConnect (Irig or griffin)----> iPod Touch 4G
all while there is a loop running trough the EverydayLooper ? or is the Iphone not gonna let two signals go out into a PA

If I understand your question correctly, yes, Everyday Looper will let two signals go into the PA. The two signal being 1) your direct input from the mixer (harmonica / clarinet) - don't forget to activate the Microphone PassThrough option -, 2) the recorded loops.

Does this answer your question ?

i'm trying to loop a tc helicon voicetone synth, it's output levels are as follows:

Main Output Connectors Balanced XLR
Output Impedance 40 Ohm
Output Level +2dBu @ 0dBFS
with a XLR to 1/4" jack cable plugged from the voicetone into my iRig, which is obviosly plugged into the headphones jack on my iphone 3g.

my iRig input doesn't play nice with either this, or just a regular mic with the same cable straight into the iRig - both distort quite a bit.

is this what i need to get the input to sound right? ... rs-a22.htm

or is this one more likely to work? ... ar-connect

the griffin guitar connect promises to work with "keyboards". the kvconnection XLR line level promises to work with "line level" devices, like mixers i suppose. is 40 Ohm +2dBu @ 0dBFS keyboard level, line level, or neither? if plugged the voicetone into my roland gp-6 fx unit, would that change things? i suppose it would.

the gt-6 is:

INPUT: -10dBu
RETURN: -10dBu
Input Impedance
INPUT: 1M ohms
RETURN: 220k ohms

Nominal Output Level
SEND: -10dBu
Output Impedance
OUTPUT: 2k ohms
SEND: 2k ohms

i tried plugging the voicetone into the gt-6, but that also seems to send a signal the iRig doesn't like, it comes out all quiet but distorted. what setup should i be using for this?

thanks for your help!

ps. my dj rig accepts the tchelicon voicesynth as a microphone level input with it's cheap builtin mic preamp. it's possible it's sending out some kind of mic level signal? what kind of input device might i use if that were so?

pps. i've got access to a cable shop, they can make custom cables there with various inputs, outpus, wirings, connectors etc. dunno if they can do impedance related stuff there though...

Hi again messiahwannabe :) !

It seems that your voicetone has a "real/pro" high-level line out. In our everyday products (computers, iPod docks, ...), line out is considered to be around -10 dBv.

Can you manage to get rid of the distortion by lowering the output volume of your voicetone ?

What sounds very strange to me is that you have the same distorted result with a regular mic (dynamic ? no preamp ?). Its output level should be very very lower than the one of your voicetone.

Because of this I would not recommend going for the KVConnection cable. The problem may be elsewhere. The Griffin cable is basically the same thing as the iRig, maybe even with only some part of the correcting electronic (impedance, DC Offset, load, ...).

IK Multimedia stands that the iRig "Also works with line level signals from synthesizers, keyboards, mixers". I would recommend to ask them directly if it should work with your setup, and if not, why ^^ ! And I would be very interested in knowing the answer.

One thing to remember is the iRig is not really a "high-quality do-it-all" audio interface, it's rather a "try to make the strange jack input work with guitars and some other things" interface ;) .

I bought the iRig Mic and it works great with Everyday Looper. I wrote on it here: viewtopic.php?f=3&t=131&start=10
