The App works great, but why can't I play a song thru my ipod touches internal speakers?
It only seems to work via headset, even if none is connected when starting the app...

Hi tipi !

In fact it should work, with the procedure you seem to describe. To be clear : starting the looper without anything connected to its headphone jack.

What version of the iPod touch do you have ? And with which version of the OS ?

Thanks for the quick reply.
Even when I start the App with no headphones connected, I cannot play back.
It' s not just that there is no sound, in fact, all the controls like play, record, volume levels, erase track etc. don't work, touches are simply ignored. The only control that works is getting into the menu.
The same applies when I connect headphones (without a mic), a dock or an audio line out.
Connect the headset (with built-in mic) that came with the iPod and everything works fine.
I have the latest 64GB model with the latest OS 3.1.3

This one will be quite challenging for me as I only have an iPod touch V2 with OS 2.2 to test it. And on this one it worked perfectly fine.

So I presume that something has changed in the handling of the speaker in the 0S 3.X for the iPod touch.

I add it to my bug list, and will debug it as soon as I can get an iPod touch with OS 3.1. Or if I find a way to get OS 3.1 on my iPod touch and then go back to 2.2 (because I want to maintain backward compatibility for now), but I think it's impossible.

We can try a "out of the box" debug nonetheless.

Could you try this and tell me if it changes something :

- Go to the Options page in the menu
- Check "Favor Speaker Over Receiver", so you see the blue background
- Quit and restart the app
- Check if playback works now

Thanks by advance :) .

Tried it. Didn't help, unfortunately.

I understand your intention to be "backward compatible". But I guess most iPod users have OS 3 now since it's a cheap upgrade with some important new features.

Thanks for the test tipi :) .

I will try to fix it as soon as I can, in the mean time, I'm sorry for the inconvenience.

Hi, I have this same problem. I made a song with it and wanted to show it to my friends, but it will not work unless the special "mic+headset" earphones are in.

Just wanna chip in, I'd also really like this to work.

Loving your app by the way.

I have the latest Gen iPod Touch and can't get anything working. The best I can do is access the options screen, long press a track and sort of move it and generate a click track.

I can't record a track, I can't playback anything with or without headphones attached. I've tried all of the different settings combinations to try and get something going.

I have a very good custom made stereo microphone plugged into the headphone jack (used for recording live shows). I'm assuming that the software is not detecting a microphone so it's not allowing recording. Could someone point me to an adapter that can accept a stereo mic and a headphone? Will stereo recording even work?

Thanks,
-bob
