Hello,
Great job on the app- just got it today. Ive read everything on this forum but still not sure which input device to get. If u could recommend one that would be fantastic!

Heres my setup:
I am micing a full drumset going into a yamaha mixer. Im coming out of the mixer straight into the iphone. I want to avoid using a dock connector so I can use the power plug. I saw two contendors - the griffin guitar cable one and the kv connector standard breakout one. My biggest question is which one will provide the right level for the audio coming out of the mixer?

If you are going to connect the output of your mixing desk directly into the iPhone, I would go for the kv connection cable. There is even some suited for line-level signals, which are basically adding a -22 dB attenuation. However it's not necessarily needed for you, because you can easily adjust the output level of your mixing desk with the master fader.
